Ms. Schiebner brings a diverse legal background with experience spanning business, criminal, and tribal law.
At Grand Valley, Ms. Schiebner was a Member of the GVSU Law Society and contributed as a Writer for the GVSU InWriting Newsletter, where she honed her research and writing skills.
During her time at Wayne State University Law School, Ms. Schiebner immersed herself in business law, serving as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Business Law, and as the Social Media and Outreach Chair on the Business Law Society. Her leadership roles allowed her to develop both her analytical and communication skills, while building connections within the legal and business communities.
Ms. Schiebner also had the privilege of clerking for the Honorable Judge Rosemarie E. Aquilina of the 30th Circuit Court. In this role, she gained firsthand insight into judicial decision-making and court room procedure. Her experience in Judge Aquilina’s chambers deepened her appreciation for the judiciary’s role in ensuring fairness, justice, and access to the courts.
In addition to her clerkship, Ms. Schiebner also spent a summer in law school in Ketchikan, Alaska, working for Ketchikan Indian Community directly underneath their Tribal Council. There, she assisted with a variety of legal matters affecting the Tribe, deepening her understanding of tribal governance, advocacy, and sovereignty.
In her final year of law school, she spent a semester as a Student Attorney in the Appeal & Post-Conviction Advocacy Clinic, where she worked directly with indigent clients challenging their felony convictions or sentences and prepared appellate filings on their behalf.
Ms. Schiebner now applies the skills and experiences she has gained to assist tribes in advancing their economic development initiatives, focusing on supporting sustainable growth and long-term prosperity within tribal communities.
